Howdy Shadowverse Players
I am back with one of the most exciting decks we’ve seen in Season 2! In the final match of the NA round-robin last week, we saw Botalz win in a spectacular way. Let’s take some time to go over what he used in his deck. Get the deck here!
Now we have seen dimension shift played, but none of them played quite like this one.
Pros and Cons
Abomination Awakened allows you to play very aggressively
Plenty of removal to keep yourself safe from aggressive lists
Capable of fighting control decks the same as the standard
Very weak against aggro / midrange decks
Very draw dependent
Difficult to win without the primary dimension shift combo (this is not impossible, however)
General Game plan
The gameplan of dimension shift runecraft is not a simple one. You want to begin spell boosting your Dshift as early as possible. Use spells such as Insight, Magic Missile, and Kaleidoscopic Glow to keep cards in your hand and spell boost at the same time. Generally, you want to make sure you have a high hand count so you have more options.
Make use of the removal spells Wind Blast, Witch Bolt and Fiery Embrace to ensure your opponent’s board stays clear so that you can win the game with your end game combo.

This card deserved its own section because it’s such an oddity to have in a deck. Abomination serves 3 important functions:
A very strong “pseudo” ward – A card that does not have ward but presents enough of a threat or annoyance to cause it to become a priority. This is good because your opponent will feel as if they have to kill this card or risk putting themselves in a bad spot.
A high powered aggressive option. If your opponent chooses to ignore it, you can use it to press a massive amount of damage to them.
Board Clear. If you play your hand correctly, you can use abomination to help clear the board against your opponent. While this can be a rare occurrence, it is still possible.
Being aggressive is not something that we usually see from Dimension Shift. But abomination actually opens the doors to these lines of play.
Please keep in mind that you want to make sure that you have at least one card that you can utilize spell boost with in your hand when mulliganing.
Conjure Golem / Kaleidoscopic Glow / Magic Missile (In order of priority)
Fates Hand (if you do not have dimension shift in hand)
Kaleidoscopic Glow / Conjure Golem / Magic Missile
Timeworn Mage Levi
Merlin (Very matchup dependent keep)
We got to see botalz pilot this deck in a fashion we rarely get to see. For myself as a caster, it was sweet to watch this game, with the shock I felt with the rest of the audience in its performance. I would like to give a personal shout out to botalz and Sprayquaza for giving us a game that we will remember! Until next time!
